We met Steve's Mom for the first time here. Steve was gracious enough to pay for everyone!

Here we are waiting patiently for our table and for Steve's mother to arrive.

Steve's mom (Luisa) looks young enough to be his sister, doesn't she? (Her fiance, Victor, is next to her)

I got this as a "retirement gift" from work. Yep, that's right -- I retired! The timing was right and, after much thought, I decided to pull my own plug. Let's see if I can stay retired...

This little guy is really great. It has a very small footprint (smaller than an 8.5x ll piece of paper) and is very light (~3 lbs). It includes an internal 160G HD and a six-cell battery allowing it to run for 6.5 hours.

Finally, it has three USB ports, a VGA port, and even a multi-in card reader so you can transfer pictures from a memory card.

We went to Alhambra to visit Karen's work friend. She recommended going to this place -- Din Tai Fung - Dumpling House in Arcadia.

Here's a look inside...the place was humming with people -- two floors deep! On the left, you can actually see the people making the dumplings by hand.

Karen and her friend Helen -- reunited after twenty years!

While you wait to be seated, the hostess gives you this order form to fill out. Then when they seat you, they already know what to serve you.

Noodles with minced meat sauce

Fried pork chop rice

String beans

Last, but not least, the "juicy pork dumplings"!

Went to visit my Mom with Karen and my sister Jage. My Mom prepared fish jook and dumplings!

Dumplings come frozen when you buy them. Place directly from the freezer to the steamer.

After 15 minutes of steaming...

Juicy crab-pork dumplings.

Afterwards, we brought flowers to my Dad's gravesite for Qing Ming -- Chinese Memorial Day.

My sister, Jage, brought over some dessert from a Cuban bakery -- Yummy! But, we were still stuffed from the dumplings and jook :(

Dessert!! My favorite was the mocha chocolate thingy -- although the guava pastry was a close second.
