We went up north to see the daughter of old friends get married.

Doesn't the weather look creepy?

Heads...

and feet on the pier.

We found this terrific Italian restaurant in Pismo Beach.

The rose petal path leading to the altar.

Close-up of the altar.

The Moms being escorted by the groom's Dad.

The groom...

The bridesmaids...

and the groomsmen all waiting anxiously for the bride.

The father about to give away his daughter.

The couple at the altar.

Making their grand exit immediately after the ceremony, the NEW bride and groom...

the maid of honor (sister of the bride) and best man (brother of the groom)...

and, finally, the mother and father of the bride.

The traditional wedding cake is no longer in style. Now, we have these colorful cupcakes instead.

Mother of the bride (Rachel) is in the center.

The "girls" with the new bride and groom.

On the way home, we stopped by Solvang and the Camarillo Outlet Stores.

We had some really good pastries and cookies at this "Danish Mill Bakery and Coffee Shop".

What's Solvang without its windmills?

We were getting together to watch the closing Olympic ceremonies so we decided to have an early lunch at Cheesecake Factory.

Me with "deep pockets" (she always insists on paying)...

Later that evening we invited the Martins for an early dinner at Sam Woos -- Kayla was there entertaining us!

Doesn't our food look yummy?
